Ask Russell |

Thanks to a suggestion from a fan from Spain, I am adding a topic where you can post questions to Russell. You can add pictures, links, etc too.
I don't know if he can answer, but I will let him know the topic is here, and, if he chooses, he can answer through me.

Ask Russell | #1 | ||
|
This is a fun idea, Murph. I have a couple of non film related questions, should Russell chose to answer.
First off I have my Souths member hat on and would like to ask the 'big bunny' if he believes we have the winning team for the upcoming season, and is
there any specific NRL player that he would still like to wear the red and green?
The second is on a more personal note, if that's allowed. Could I ask if Russell and Dani ever received the cross stitch I did in celebration of Charlie's birth? Finally, I would like to slip in a quick thanks to Russell for when he sent me his best wishes on hearing about the loss of my mother a couple of years ago. His random act of kindness got me through the worst time in my life. Feel free to edit if you think anything is inappropriate, Murph. Bejay |

I love this idea. There are so many things I'd like to ask, but the first one that springs to my mind is...was he
baptised (with Tenny) as he was planning quite a while ago?

Concert in the near future?? | #5
|
Great idea, Murph!
The first question that pops into my mind (since it has been on my mind for some time now) is if Russell has any plans for doing another concert (or two) here in the U.S. in the near future. Have really missed seeing the band perform live, and my TOFOG CD's are about worn out from over play! lol! Thanks!! :) Stacey |

As a Pittsburgher and also an extra in the filming of TN3D on Ross Street by Mellon Bank, I was wondering how you've come to feel about the city now that
you've spent some time here? I was worried when you first arrived because it was so cool and rained all day every day, but November has more than made up
for that with its sunny warmth. I imagine that's let you ride your bike a lot as well as all the myriad locations the filming takes you to, so you must
have a pretty good idea about the place by now. The Fort Pitt Bridge is even a little like a mini-Coathanger and I was interested if it ever brought Sydney to
mind in its itsy way? Are there places or areas of the city you like...or maybe, um, don't like? I never actually thought you'd get here in person and
when one
hasn't been here, Pittsburgh still sorta conjures up smokestacks and steel mills. Now that you're here, you can see how that's not true any more at all, and I hope you'll take back to Australia with you a certain fondness for the place and it's setting and its sports enthusiasm and its history. I was impressed that one of the first places you went was the History Center. Good for you! Jo |

Has Russell played the violin any since Master & Commander?
I'm an executive director for a chamber orchestra & choral music society. When Master & Commander came out a few years ago, so many of my friends and colleagues were impressed by the fact that he actually took the time to learn the violin. I remember seeing an interview in which he said that he only made it to a "beginner's level." Getting even that far on a string instrument in such a relatively short amount of time is no easy task! He earned the respect of a lot of classical musicians just for trying! Props to you, mate! Thanks for not faking it! Fiddle

Woah, great, thanks Murph! :)
Will Russell come to Germany again? As a german I want to ask if he plans to visit our country again in the future? He was here in Hamburg in 2003 at the german premiere of "M & C". I was there and it was such a wonderful day. Would be so cool if he will come to Germany again :) Maybe with his band TOFOG, would be great ;D Thanks!! |

Have you written any lullabies for your babies? And will we get to hear them?
If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that
has been there all the while, waiting for you,

Hey Mrs Murph, Big Man and everyone,
Don't be scared, I'm not a nutsy (well, not too much), am posting here beary respectuously, and hope that I won't scare or shock anyone. There are so many interesting questions from the ladies already, but I have this simple one: I admire you also as a singer and I wished I could hear and see you sing with your band again as I did in Le Thor years ago. But I do understand that, being the good family man you are, you have other priorities now, and I do respect them. We almost met in the Bourne woods a few months ago where I came with the hope of getting a part in your movie there, given my name... but I only met Robin Bear
(Ask your question now, Little John!) Oh yes, sorry... Isn't there any chance for us to see you sing again with your band somewhere? And would you let me sing with you? I am an excellent singer myself, you know!
(Sorry about that, folks! It was just a bit of humour - always with a lot of respect - that you can delete if you want too... but the bear exists for real and he couldn't resist asking)

Hello Murph, cheers for taking up this idea...
If i was to sit down with Russell Crowe and ask a few questions, I'd like to think that I would have some wonderful and insightful questions to ask, but unfortunately I don't think that would be the case as nerves would likely get the better of me. But nonetheless I'll give it a go in the confidence that the internet offers me the courage to step up and ask from afar... Questions for R.C - When it comes to your acting, would you consider taking a change in direction from doing the bigger international productions and return to more independent Australian and/or New Zealand films in the future? If not, is it because it would be like a "been there, done that" kind of decision? And if yes, who would be your preferred AUST/NZ directors and writers you would most like to work with? - Being considered an actor who is at the top of his game. Which other actor/s in your opinion could perhaps be the best emerging talent/s at the moment? Music. Now I have been quite the fan/follower of Billy Bragg for the last 23 years. So when I once heard you interviewed on Australia's Triple J radio either pre or post Romper Stomper, I was surprised to hear that you too were a avid Billy Bragg fan, having requested - Levi Stubb's Tears. As such I have always thought that if given the opportunity I would love to talk about Billy to you... - What was the first Billy Bragg song that stopped you dead in your tracks? (so much so that it was if you had just been let in on a secret of beauty and clarity...if that makes sense?). - Favourite Billy Bragg song/s and/or album? And inturn favourite BB lyric that you wished you had written? I really could go on and on with the BB questions but for those none fans I'll save you the boredom and stop with only two and a bit :P Anyway I can only hope to read the answers one day soon. Thanks! |

What I would like to ask Russell ... | #16
|
Hey Murph !
That's a terrific idea, but will it be possible for Russell to read and answer questions having so much work on his hands ? I hope he will. I am really impressed by the huge variety of activities he is able to carry out at the same time : filming, taking care of his Rabbitohs, commenting in films, etc ... Napoleon was able to dictate 7 letters at the same time, so ... Re-re-watching with as much pleasure as usual "For the Moment", I was wondering if Russell was singing "Waltzing Matilda" during the bath scene. It's a very deep and melodious voice that sounds like his. Russell is used to commenting in documentary films or films as such like "the Bra Boys", what about his voice in this case, the tone used when speaking without fellow-actors, it should be quite hard to achieve. What about Russell's experience in this domain ? I am very much interested in the "Making of" things in DVD's. Many are really exceptional and didactic ("Gladiator", "Proof of Life", "Master and Commander", "American Gangsters", "A Good Year", among others ; does Russell intervene in the "Making of" design of his films ? Thank you ever so much for this wonderful idea and thanks to Russell for what he presently represents in the film industry. |
